What is the Ripple Effect?

I’ve added the Ripple Effect Meditation for you right here at the top — but before you hit play, I’d love for you to read the story below. It’s the heart behind this practice, and it will help you feel the ripple even more when you listen.

How taking care of you shifts everything around you.

I’ve been taking my time filming inside GloYou, When I came up with the idea I had been in the trenches of an extremely stressful situation. I knew I had to take my time, as I needed to process and move the stress so I could move through the Glo with peace and clarity. And honestly, GloYou has felt like a “coming out” for me.

The Glo isn’t something I normally teach.

Most of my classes are slower, steadier, more restorative. But this is different — it’s a flow, a sequence of movements that link together, breath by breath. Each week we build, adding a little more, until it becomes something powerful and whole.

And I’ll be honest… part of the reason I haven’t taught this before is because of my own confidence issues as a teacher. You know the old internal stories we make up to talk ourselves out of doing something new..."I'm not good enough." "I can't do this." the list goes on and on....

There’s been so much fear wrapped up in it — fear of not getting it right, fear of mixing up my words, fear of pushing too hard, and worst of all, fear of someone getting hurt.

That fear isn’t unfounded. I’ve hurt myself before. I once tore a tummy muscle during a flow, and even now, if I don’t take care, it still flares up. So yes, the thought of “what if I get it wrong?” has been very real for me.

But at the same time, there’s always been this quiet knowing that flows like this are also where my fire lives. They’re where strength meets breath, where movement becomes meditation, where I feel alive.

And that’s why I knew I had to bring GloYou into the world.

But at the same time, there’s been this deeply seeded fire inside me. And it’s only been getting louder.

The past term was stressful, and the exhaustion left in its wake has been heavy. I gave myself space for rest, but I also knew that if I kept putting off moving forward, the fear would just keep sounding like an excuse.

So yesterday I decided. This morning, when the alarm went off, I said to myself: I can do this. I believe in myself. And I repeated it over and over again.

Our words hold so much power. Not just for others, but for ourselves. You are the greatest story you will ever write. When you speak to yourself with love, kindness, and belief, it ripples out in your actions.

I ran through the sequence in my mind. I practiced it a few times. And then I hit record.

Was it perfect? No. I paused. I lost my words because I ran out of breath (ha!). Did I fail because I took a moment to reset before continuing? Fuck no.

It was glorious. Because I did what I needed to do to keep going with clear breath and a clear head.

That’s the thing about fear, if we allow it, it can hold us back from our true potential. It can hold you back from even trying. From discovering what’s possible when we move anyway. My girls, bless them have in the last 2 weeks thrown my own words back at me; "You can do hard things mummy."

I finished filming, "Power & Expansion" just as Digs was heading out the door to work. My body felt warm, a little sweaty, powered up and something had shifted inside me. I had expanded. Inside, I felt calm, grounded, that fire had been lit and it was expanding within me.

And that fire carried me into my day.

I went upstairs, hugged my girls, and felt more connected to them. No scrolling, I didn't allow myself to be  distracted, there was only presence.

That expansion of fire reminded me how much I love music, so I cranked up some tunes in the kitchen while making breakfast. The girls love it too, music in itself can be so healing, so we danced and sang as we ate. When they were done, the girls took themselves off to get dressed — no nagging, no stress. I cleaned up, even vacuumed the floor, and by 8am, everything was done.

The girls were ready for school, enough time to happily playing, calm and connected. As we walked out the door not only were they prepared for the day, but they were in the right headspace to learn and grow.

The point?

It all felt like a gentle flow. No resistance. Just presence and fun.

And it reminded me once again: when we take care of ourselves, when we lean into resistance (or fear) instead of running from it, that ripple effect is felt in everyone around us.

That morning wasn’t just smoother for me — it shaped the energy of my whole family.

That’s the ripple of GloYou.

It’s not just movement. It’s not just breath. It’s a flow that expands into every part of your life.

GloYou is your ripple.

To support you as you explore your own ripple, I’ve added the Ripple Effect Meditation as you saw at the top of this blog. This is the exact audio you receive right at the beginning inside GloYou — one you can listen to over and over again, and it’s yours to keep. It’s a gentle practice to bring you back to your breath, reconnect with your centre, and notice how even the smallest shifts inside you can ripple outward.

And while this meditation is a beautiful starting point, inside GloYou there’s so much more — empowering audios, breath-led flows, and reflections designed to help you build strength, confidence, and glow from the inside out.

I always say that writing is a form of therapy for me, and my ripple is sharing this with you — with the hope that you will feel it too.

If you’re feeling resistant, scared, but also hearing that little voice inside whispering that you’re ready for your own ripple… come inside and join us. There are plenty of options, and I promise to take such great care of you.

Because at the end of the day:

You are the story you tell yourself. Make it a good one.
